Our roots in Brixton are growing deeper

Why does the centre exist?

With a 10-year lease from Lambeth Council and the potential for extension, The Liberation Centre will act as a centre for learning, organising, dreaming, and community building. It will not only house TAA's community and youth organising programs but also serve as a vibrant, open-access sanctuary for young people and activists from across London and beyond.

Our former space in Brixton was a cherished hub for the community, operating despite much hardship and uncertainty through a pandemic, eviction notices, and lots of structural issues. In our 5 years in Vining Streets, we hosted a plethora of brilliant organisations and groups such as the UK Student Climate Network, Our Second Home, and the Living Wage Foundation to name a few.

Now, The Liberation Centre will elevate this legacy, continuing to be a welcoming and accessible hub for marginalised voices and organising for power.
